Loard’s Ice Cream now open in Fremont
Fremont now has a Loard’s Ice Cream, but you might miss it… even if you have the address.
The owners of C & C Liquors have opened a Loard’s inside their shop on Sumter Ave. The back has been decked out with all the signs, scoops and classic pink paint (even the acoustic tiles have been changed to match).
Loard’s is really good, standard ice cream and even though it is a chain, it is nice to have one in town again (and I just dated myself).
Open Sun – Sat 12pm – 11pm
Fresh & Easy probably not opening in Fremont.
Don’t hold your breath (any longer than you have) for Fresh & Easy to open their new Fremont location.
The British company isn’t doing well in the US and they are considering closing all their current locations. They will not make a final decision about the closures until their own April 2013 review is complete.
Even if the current locations remain open, new locations seem less likely.
And so, much like before, we wait and see.
Moos Cakes… for sale?
It seems as though the owners of Moos Cakes have put the business up for sale. A listing on Craigslist reads:
The bakery is located in a busy shopping center which has many prominent tenants such as Lucky Market, St**b**ks, Jack In The Box, and a bank.
Couple that with “Outside seating is available for customers.” and “This bakery sells all types of cakes and bread…” and we can think of only one bakery that fits the description.
If anyone would like to prove us wrong, we’d be thankful.
